I recently had the opportunity to be a part of the MTV launch of the new UK version of Teen Mums. I was on the panel with some really inspirational, powerful mamas as well as getting to hear from the mega cast themselves. I'm as awkward as they come so you can imagine the anxiety overload when handed a microphone, on stage....in front of a few hundred people whilst being filmed. But it was fine and I only said the f-word once, which is pretty good considering I was fucking shitting myself.
THAT ASIDE, it was an incredibly empowering day. Discussing how being a young mum, a single mum, a what-the-fuck-am-i-gonna-do-now mum is never ever the end of your dreams. Your path is quite possibly going to look a little different but of all the women in the studio that day (of which i'd say 95% were mums), every single one agreed they were better versions of themselves since having their wee babes. As I type this, Elvis is hanging out with his Nana so I can get some work done. I've not eaten, drunk enough water, slept and dressed at noon. I am 100% ready to have my babe back in my arms now so I can start looking after us both! x
